I remember reading (I think in the Saturday Evening Post) back some time in the '50s an article either by, or quoting, the Czech(!) police inspector who investigated Masaryk's death. He apparently did a very careful job and found that Masaryk had been surprised reading in bed, and had been injected in the ear with some poison, probably formaldehyde, then dragged to the bathroom and thrown out the window. Masaryk was probably already dead when he hit the stone pavement one floor below. The inspector didn't say specifically, but pretty strongly implied that the Communists were responsible. If you are going into Czech politics you should be careful to live on the ground floor! Dan Killoran
