I don't think so. I used it with NO registration and have found a bunch of my family members. I got some birth dates I didn't have and they give you a description of the person, color of hair, height,etc. Also if they were married in some cases the wife name is listed. I think it is great site to check out. I am running all my surnames and using as much as I can by the 25th and the best thing it's FREE right now.
