Thanks Karen, the bit that he forgot to mention is that the Government has decided this using the reason "it is so terrorists cannot get ahold of any information about people until all of them who filled it out are dead". Its part of the Government here's new policies about all kinds of things. We are about to lose freedom of speech in the interests of 'national security'. When I heard about the restriction on census results, it seemed to me that if noone such as tribunals and inquiries can USE the information and access it to inform decisions, such as future needs of people, actual ethnic constitution, socio-economic inequalities etc, what is the point of spending all that money, when they could just get a PO box and ask for stuff for a time capsule? It's funny funny times here downunder, there are things going on which might bring up echoes for anyone of German-Bohemian ancestry, and that's all I should say.
