Yes, they lived most certainly in the Egerland and would have spoken our dialect which is Oberpfälzerisch German, and this is still spoken to this day in the Hof, Bayreuth and Marktredwitz areas! If you visit there, go to an Inn "Gasthof" in the evening when the local folks come for a drink of beer and play cards..... and then sit quietly in a corner and LISTEN!!! Egerland has nothing to do with Eggs.... it is Eger (the river) + land. The other mailings I compiled with help you immensely to understand the area of your ancestry.
