I have a book on the Schreiner's in Hammern, written by E. Schreiner. There is a section on Gruen where my Schreiners and other family members IE Linsmeier, Aschenbrenner, Haider, Dums, Denkand many others originate. The address given for the author is: E. Schreiner Postfach 13 25 8370 Regen Is this a complete address? Does anyone on this list know if this woman is still living? I don't know the year of publication of the book. It is all German but a couple of words at a time, I translate interesting paragraphs. Dori Rhody -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Dori, this Regen is in Austria, because it has only 4 digits on their Zipcode. The German town of Regen is in Bavaria and they have 5 digit Zipcodes like 60432, therefore, you must add the Country on the bottom to your address, like so: E. Schreiner Postfach 13 25 (this is like PO Box) A-8370 Regen Austria Hope that this will help you to find out if this person is still living. You may also go to several URLs and type into the search button "8370 Regen Austria." There you will see that it is close to the Bohemian Forest to the North. Bohemia and Austria were the same country for 500 and more years. Your ancestors were split between two countries when they formed Czechoslovakia in 1919 by the Allied's agreement of Trianon after WW1. Many families were torn apart then, I mean those that lived in the South Bohemian - Austrian Border Region.
