The Chicago Tribune web site is free, but the one I usually use is a pay site. This is part of NewsBank America in the subscription to Godfrey.org. This may be a part of HeritageQuest, I'm not sure. HeritageQuest is part of many libraries in their databases. However, it is mostly going to cover major newspapers, and only some go back very far. As you saw, the Houston Chronicle online only went back to 1985. When I need smaller or older newspapers, I either go to the Minnesota Historical Society for all those in my state, or order appropriate newspapers on microfilm at a county library. If you have a few simple requests, I can try looking for them. The subscription to Godrey Library online is very reasonable, like $30 a year. I've been trying for years to find an obit web site but I always seem to end up far from what I'm looking for. Will you give me the site you use or is it only the Chicago Tribune? Although I do have relatives in that area. Duane Dorman Lincoln, NE ==== GERMAN-BOHEMIAN Mailing List ==== Would you like to see messages that were posted before you joined the list?
