    3. I am searching for information about the Thoendel family that owned a Chicago jewelry store in the 1940's. My late uncle told me that when he was in the Merchant Marines he saw the store name while he was stationed there. Any help would be apprecaited. Thank you... 3. http://tinyurl.com/9yoed Someone on another listserver sent me the above link that bounces you to the Chicago Tribune's search engine site. Very easy to use and if you have ancestors or family in the Chicago area, it is worth playing around with the search. Some of the obits go back to 1915, but most appear to be post 1940. Worth the go of it though Bill for info on the jewelry store. 3. Bill, At www.newspaperarchive.com there were tons of hits for Thoendel in Chicago, I pulled the ones for the Jewelry store and placed them temporarily on a webpage. I could not find any though for the 1940's but there were many very interesting ones for earlier years. There is also sorta a bio in one, which I saved. Go to the link below to view them. Let me know when you have right-clicked and saved them all, so I can delete them. http://www.lifesadance.net/pend/Thoendel/ Enjoy, Jody ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill's Mail" <willthon@msn.com> To: <GERMAN-BOHEMIAN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, December 29, 2005 11:56 PM Subject: [GERMAN-BOHEMIAN] Thoendel Jewelry Store - Chicago > > I am searching for information about the Thoendel family that owned a > Chicago jewelry store in the 1940's.
