My name is Gerhard Reichl and I live in Germany near the border to Czech Republic. All my ancestors come from Bohemia in the former kingdom Austria-Hungary. Today it is Czech Republic. Many of my relatives have emigrated into the USA. To some of them we found contact again. To the relatives of my mother we lost contact after World War II. Descendants of Katharina Ditz: 1 Katharina Ditz, Born: 09 Nov 1872 in Neudorf, Bohemia, (Died: probably 27 Febr 1940 in Chicago, Cook) .. +Georg Bauer, Born: (probably 23 May 1866) in Neudorf , Bohemia, Married: in USA ........ 2 Georg Bauer, Born: in USA ............ +Edith, Born: in USA, Married: in USA ........ 2 John Bauer, Born: in USA ........ 2 Ferdinand Bauer, Born: in USA ............ +Lillian, Married: in USA ........ 2 Margaret Bauer, Born: in USA ........ 2 Joseph Bauer, Born: (about 1898 or 1901) in USA Katharina Ditz is a sister of Rosalia Ditz. Rosalia Ditz is my grandgrandmother (from my mother's side). Katharina Ditz and her sister Maria emmigrated 16 and 17 years old into the USA (I think in 1887 or 1888). They lived in Chicago. In USA Katharina married Georg Bauer which came from Neudorf, too. Maria married a man from Germany. Katharina and Georg Bauer had 5 children (Georg, John, Ferdinand, Margaret, Joseph). About 1937 Joseph Bauer visited Neudorf in Bohemia. He mas a mechanical engineer. He made a movie about the life in the village Neudorf. He went back to USA and never anybody in Bohemia or Germany had seen the movie. Joseph was not married and so I think he will have no descendants. But two of his brothers were married. Perhaps this movie still exists. This would be great. You know there is no movie about Neudorf before the expulsion in 1946 and there are not many photos. About 1938 Margaret Bauer lived in : 3411 N. Springfield Ave., Chicago, 18, Illinois (I think Joseph lived in the same house) Later then Joseph, John and Margaret lived in: 2009 N. Woodlawn Park Avenue, Mc Henry, Illinois 60050 I think the 5 brothers and sisters will be already dead. But there may be any descendants of Georg and Ferdinand. Maybe somebody can help me to find contact. Thanks.

Oh, Margaret's is very useful! Now we can look in a better place for George, he has moved to Texas! But that may be small, without an online newspaper link. I have also found a John A. Bauer, but I do not know if it is the right one. He has a wife Elizabeth and some children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren. He died in 1982, which would be a good date, since he is mentioned here in 1981 in Margaret's obituary. Hi Gerhard, I was born in Pfraumberg and visited Neudorf with my father as a little boy. My father was the local Doctor and Neudorf was in the Pfraumberg area. I had some correspondence with a Dietz decendant in the USA,but lost all my data when my computer went down. If I remember correctly, his Dietz family came from near Neudorf. Between Neudorf and Dianaberg and worked for the Graf Kolowrat family. In Pfraumberg we had also a Dietz family and he thought he may have been related ? I will check back in my records to see if I can find some further information .
