Anton was born in Hohenstadt in 1853, and as a child immigrated to Bosnia. Do you have any info or advice as to how to proceed with my family tree research? Hello Mario - Hohenstadt is my hometown. (*32) If you go to www.schoenhengstgau.eu/verein you will be able to read - in German - about the largest German "Sprachinsel" (linguistic island) in Czecho- to which Hohenstadt belonged. I have a few copies of the periodical 'Schònhengster Heimat'. However there is no reference to the name Fròmmelin the Hohenstadt column. As Aida suggested the name was widespread in the Sudetenland. If you need someone to research the archives for you, I can recommend Jiri Osanec who lives nearby in Olomouc (Olmütz).
