    3. www.Antiquus Morbus.com suggests that Kinderkrampfe (eclampsia infantum) might have been a type of Eclampsia/Eclampsy. "Sometimes applied to a form of puerperal convulsions resembling epilepsy in severity."   It certainly was very common. When mother's were giving birth almost every year it is hard to imagine how their bodies could recover. Even in US modern times, 1860-1900, cemetery records will have pages of tiny babies & stillborns. Sometimes almost every child in a family was stillborn or died after a few days. Maybe the RH factor played a roll before we knew what it was.   My great grandfather was the eldest of 9 children of his father's second wife. Only he and sibling number 7 survived. 4 died of Infant convulsions including twins. 3 were stillborn.  I find Krampfe listed on various sides of my family.
