Schwindt, Martha, Sept. 19, 1926- Nov. 11, 2012 Scottsbluff Star Herald Scottsbluff, Nebraska 13 Nov 2012 TORRINGTON, Wyo. - Martha Schwindt, 86, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 at the Goshen Care Center in Torrington. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the First Congregational Church with Reverend Matt Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery in Torrington. Memorials may be made to the church or the Care Center. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends may send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com. Martha was born Sept. 19, 1926 in Torrington, Wyo. the daughter of Martin and Katherine (Reifschneider) Schaneman. During her school years she was an active member of 4-H. She graduated from Torrington High School in 1945. Martha married Roland Schwindt March 2, 1947, in Torrington. The couple farmed near Huntley and Veteran for many years. In 1997, they retired and moved to Torrington. Martha loved to garden and can her produce. She was famous for her pickles. Martha was a good wife, mother and homemaker. She helped raise her grandson Thaddeus and she was especially close to her twin sister Marie. She was a member of the First Congregational Church. Survivors include her husband Roland of Torrington; sons, Gary (Susan) Schwindt of Torrington and Bruce (Teri) Schwindt of Mountain Home, Wyo.; sisters, Marie Riggs of Torrington, Elsie (Albert) Hopp of Torrington, Clara (Marvin) Miller of Scottsbluff, and Lorraine Eisenbarth of Torrington; brothers, Alex (Elsie) Schaneman of Torrington, Robert (Nancy) Schaneman of Cheyenne, Richard (Judy) Schaneman of Torrington; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas Schwindt and Gabrielle Schwindt both of Laramie, Wyo. Preceding Martha in death were her parents; brother, Martin Schaneman; sisters, Lilly Baker and Betty Morgheim; and grandson, Thaddeus Schwindt.
