Helzer, Marvin LeRoy, Sept. 4, 1933- Nov. 13, 2012 Billings Gazette Billings, Montana 20 Nov 2012 KALISPELL Marvin LeRoy Helzer, 79, of Kalispell, passed away in his home on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, after a long battle with Parkinsons disease. Marvin was born on Sept. 4, 1933, in Billings. He graduated from Park City High School in 1951. As a child, his parents farmed in Harlem until 1949, then moving to Park City, to farm. He farmed with his parents until 1958. Marvin married Catherine Friedt on Nov. 14, 1953. In 1958, Marvin, Cathy and daughter Susan (1955) moved to Billings where Marvin worked for Associated Foods until 1974. Sons Gary (1959) and Steve (1963) were born in Billings. The family moved to Kalispell, in 1974 where Marvin worked for Rosauer's, Semi Tool and Northwest Precision until he retired in 1992. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his family and grandchildren, gardening and woodworking. Preceding him in death are his parents, Conrad and Marie Helzer, and brother Gerald Helzer. He is survived by his wife, Cathy; daughter, Susan Gilman (Marty); sons, Gary (Debbie) and Steve Helzer; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and brother Wilbur Helzer of Billings. Cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service will be held at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, 2012. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
