Reifschneider, Mary Ellen, Nov. 25, 1927-Nov. 8, 2012 The Tribune Greeley, Colorado 11 Nov 2012 Residence: Loveland Mary Ellen Reifschneider, 84 passed away Nov. 8, 2012, at her residence in Loveland, surrounded by family. She was born Nov. 25, 1927, in Bogue, Kan., to William and Gertrude (Burns) Serena. She moved to Colorado at the age of 7 and attended school in Franktown and Elizabeth, Colo., before moving to Deer Trail, Colo., in 1936, where she graduated from high school in 1946. Mary went on to receive her teaching certificate and taught at rural schools for three years. On June 13, 1949, she married Milton Reifschneider at St. Paul’s Congregational Church in Greeley. They were married for 60 years. Mary worked in Greeley at Ray’s Locker Plant and Consumer Oil Co. She started working for Greeley-Evans School District 6 Food Service in 1966, at Greeley Central High School, where she was employed for 31 years before retiring in 1997. After retirement, Mary and Milton moved to Loveland, to be closer to family. She loved cooking and baking for her family, especially krautburgers, turtles and cinnamon chews. She enjoyed the outdoors, baseball, flowers and gardening. Her family was everything to her and she loved all of them. Mary is survived by her sons, Steve Reifschneider and his wife Kim of Castle Rock, and Stan Reifschneider and his wife Renee of Loveland; five grandchildren, Tiffany Reifschneider-Smith and husband Mark Smith of Fort Collins, Taylor Reifschneider of Castle Rock, Seth, Nicolas and Mitchell Reifschneider, all of Loveland; sister-in-law, Mary Allmer of Greeley; and numerous family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton; parents; and brother, Charles Serena. Viewing will be from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, followed by funeral service at 10 a.m., at Adamson Chapel. Interment will be at Linn Grove Cemetery.
