    3. Felte, Robert (Bob) Alex, Jan. 2, 1930-Dec. 16, 2012 The Tribune Greeley, Colorado 23 Dec 2012 Residence: Windsor, Colo. Robert A. Felte, 82, of Windsor, passed away Dec. 16, 2012, as a result of heart failure. Robert was born Jan. 2, 1930, to Alex and Marie (Weber) Felte on the farm near Windsor. Bob graduated from Windsor High School, and lived in the Windsor area all of his life. On Feb. 5, 1950, Bob married the love of his life, Margaret Ruth Schanhals, also of Windsor. Our Dad was engaged in farming and cattle feeding for many of his early years. He also was involved in doing custom work of corn silage harvesting and corn shelling for many farmers in the local area. He was hired as a sales representative for Pioneer Hi-Bred International in the early 1970s, selling their brand of corn seed to local farmers in the area. He was also hired as a sales representative for Hilleshog Mono-Hy, selling their brand of sugar beet seed starting in the mid ‘80s. Both selling operations lasted until 2004. He finished out his work career selling baler twine for Pretty Good Twine Company until his death. Our Dad loved his family and had a deep love for Mom and us, and it showed in his instructions to us as we grew up. He also enjoyed people in general and deeply enjoyed chatting and helping local farmers with their problems. When he was young, he was a fast-pitch softball pitcher for the Windsor Softball Team, when fast-pitch softball was popular in Windsor. He enjoyed every aspect of the activity and was one of the top softball pitchers in the area. When there was time, he loved to travel, read books on westerns and stream fishing in the Poudre and other Colorado mountain streams. He also loved polka music and played the accordion and the dulcimer in his early years. When he was farming, he was a member of the Colorado Cattleman Association. He was also a member of the Colorado Corn Growers Association while he was selling corn seed. Bob is survived by son, Timothy (Charlette) Felte of Eaton, Colo.; daughter, Susan Yvette Savarese of Windsor; grandson, Tabor Savarese; and two great-granddaughters, Karter Kathryn Savarese and Stella Rae Savarese. He is also survived by two sisters, JoAnn (Jim) Ochsner and Pam Felte, both of Windsor. Robert is preceded in death by his loved wife of 61 years, Margaret R. Felte; and his parents, Alex and Marie Felte. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2012, at Faith United Church of Christ, 1020 Walnut St., Windsor.
