    3. Schaaf, Elsie, May 20, 1922- Dec. 2, 2012 Scottsbluff Star Herald Scottsbluff, Nebraska 5 Dec 2012 Elsie Schaaf, 90, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012 at Heritage Estates in Gering. Her funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff, with Pastor Dale Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Memorials in her name may be made to Prairie Haven Hospice or to the Salem Congregational Church. Friends who wish may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and at the funeral service. Her obituary may be viewed and memorial candles lit at www.jolliffefuneralhome.com. Elsie was born May 20, 1922 at Bayard, to David and Elizabeth (Weber) Rau. She was educated in the Bayard Public Schools. She married Reuben Schaaf on Nov. 21, 1940 in Harrisburg. Elsie and Reuben moved to Scottsbluff in 1946, and she worked at various businesses and was employed at Bailey's Town and Country Market for 27 years before retiring in 1991. Elsie was a longtime member of the Salem Congregational Church, was a member of the Eagles Lodge Auxiliary and the Women's Bowling Association. Survivors include her son, Mark Schaaf of Scottsbluff. Her parents; husband, Reuben; brothers, Dave Rau, Con Rau and Vic Rau; and sisters, Agatha Hornbacher, Ida Kissler, Anna Kramer, Dollie Deines, Mollie Rokel and Millie Schaub preceded Elsie in death.
