Frieda Eastwood Oct. 30, 1924-Dec. 7, 2012 Age: 88 Residence: Greeley Frieda Eastwood, 88, of Greeley, passed away Dec. 7, 2012, at Life Care Center in Greeley. She was born Oct. 30, 1924, to George and Elizabeth Winters, in Windsor, Colo. She married John A. Eastwood on August 26, 1945, in Portland, Ore. They were married for 67 years. They met during the war, working at the ship yards in Portland, where she was a welder. They married after the war was over in 1945 and moved back to Greeley and opened Midwest Café in downtown Greeley. Five years later, they bought the Tea House, and from there, they opened the Ebony Room at the American Legion. After 10 years, they built their own Ebony Room in Evans, which was their pride and joy. She retired in 1988 after 41 years in the restaurant and catering business. Frieda enjoyed crafts, gardening, decorating, fishing, and she loved to travel. She had been all over the world. She left a hand written note that said she would be remembered as being “opinionated, motivated, argumentative and most of all Bossy ... and if you question this to just ask her niece, Tracie.” She is survived by her husband, John Eastwood; son, Darrell (Angie) Eastwood and their daughter, Kirsten Eastwood, Denver; sister, Dorothy (Wes Howard) March, Greeley; and seven nieces and nephews: Pauletta Krum, Shelley Park, Tracie Hamilton, Jae Nickerson, Troy Denike, Kelli Dyrud and Kip March. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Anna Kammerzel, Betty Petrie, Esther Krum, Rose Nickerson, Ted Winters, Sam Winters and Til Denike. Interment will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at the Allnutt Macy Chapel with a reception to follow in the Allnutt Reception Center.
