Wyoming Tribune-Eagle Cheyenne, WY 29 Dec 2006 Elvera Lofink 1914-2006 Elvera Lofink, 92, of Torrington died Dec. 28 at the Beverly Health Care Center in Scottsbluff, Neb. She was born Nov. 29, 1914, in Loveland, Colo., the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth (Lenhart) Backman. Mrs. Lofink grew up and received her education in Colorado before moving to Torrington. She worked for Mrs. Holden's Clothing Store in Torrington and later worked at the L.B. Murphy Co. clothing store in Torrington. She married Albert "Slim" Lofink on Feb. 4, 1934, in Yoder, near where they farmed for many years. She served as the school cook at the Yoder School for eight years. She retired and moved to Torrington in 1978. She was a long-time member of the South Goshen Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Lofink is survived by two sons, LaVerne Lofink of Thermopolis and Larry Lofink of Cheyenne; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Ralph and Sonny Backman; and one sister, Edna Backman. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery. Visitation hours will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Colyer Funeral Home. Friends may contribute to the Saint Jude's Children's Hospital in Denver.
