Scottsbuff Star Hearld Scottsbluff, NE 23 Dec 2006 SCOTTSBLUFF - Eunice H. (Griess) Hofmann, 91, of Scottsbluff, died Dec. 21, 2006, at the Residency Care Center. A celebration of her life will be held at the Residency at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006 with Pastor Brad Gustafson officiating. Cremation was held at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory. Burial will be in Sutton. Memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church. Dugan-Kramer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.dugankramer.com. Eunice was born Sept. 19, 1915 to Richard and Henrietta (Nuss) Griess in Clay County. She attended District No. 5 School in Clay County through the eighth-grade. She married Hilmer Hofmann from Sutton on Feb. 14, 1937. They farmed near Sutton for three and a half years before moving to Scottsbluff in 1940. She attended junior college, worked with medical insurance, and spent 10 years at the Gentry Clinic in Gering, and worked with her husband in his mechanic business. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Women's groups, Scottsbluff Does Drove #21, and a former J.C. Senior Center board member. She loved to research and record her family's genealogy and was active in the Germans from Russia organization. She traced her family from 1525 to present. She loved to cook German dishes for her friends and family, and be with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Ron and Connie Hofmann of Hazleton, Penn., and Wayne and Janice Hofmann of Scottsbluff; one grandson ,Ross Hofmnn of Greeley, Colo., and four granddaughters; Ronda Hofmann of Denver, Colo., Angie Kubik of Minneapolis, Minn., Heidi Adams of Bakersfield, Cali., and Jessica McMullen of Lincoln; two great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters; and sisters Lenora and husband Lester Hofmann of Evans, Colo., Margaret and husband Harrison Fehr of Lincoln, and Minetta and husband Bob Coover of Scottsbluff. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Hilmer, and four brothers
