    3. Billings Gazette Billings, MT 9 Feb 2007 Esther Wilhelm, 90, of Billings, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, at Valley Health Care Center. She was born Nov. 3, 1916, in Laurel, the daughter of John and Christine (Lehr) Frank. She was raised in Laurel and married Lawrence Wilhelm. They farmed in Shepherd, Laurel and throughout the Billings area. She worked as a custodian in the Laurel School and in 1958 moved to Billings, where she cleaned houses until 1964, when she went to work as a cook at Canyon Creek School until retiring in 1978. She enjoyed crocheting, flowers, gardening, and was a fantastic cook. Esther was a member of the Pilgrim Congregational Church. Survivors include her son, James (Darlene) Wilhelm of Portland, Ore.; daughters, Susanna (Darlene) Wilhelm, Judy (Edward) Maples and Lois (Gary) Crable, all of Billings; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a big thank you to the nurses that cared for her: Peggy, Judy and Monty at Valley Health Care Center. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at Smith West Chapel, 304 34th St. West. Interment will follow at Terrace Gardens Cemetery.
