Greeley Tribune Greeley, Colorado 02-01-2007 Wallace Rothe Feb. 20,1923-Jan. 30, 2007 Age: 83 Residence: Greeley Tribute: Wallace Herman Rothe was born in Kuner to Walter Frank and Elsie (Kress) Rothe. On Sept. 20, 1941, he married Ruth Harding. They lived and farmed in the Kuner area for 51 years and raised two sons, Ronnie Rothe and Terry L. Rothe. Mr. Rothe served on the Latham ditch board, volunteered at the Weld County Fair and was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He had a partnership in the Brush Livestock Sale Barn and the Weld County Sale Barn in Greeley. Mr. Rothe and his wife moved to Greeley in 1993. After he retired, he was an order buyer for Superior Livestock. He enjoyed the annual elk hunting trip with his family and friends. He also enjoyed long trips with his wife touring the Rocky Mountains. During his most recent years, Mr. Rothe enjoyed showing his great-grandchildren his love of nature with mountain drives and enjoying the wildlife. Mr. Rothe died Tuesday at Life Care Center of Greeley. Survivors: His wife, Ruth of Greeley; two sons and their wives, Ronnie and Shiela Rothe of Montana and Terry L. and Marilyn Rothe of Greeley; three sisters, Mildred Buxman, Hazel Fritzler and Evelyn Winter; two brothers, Frank and Roy Rothe; six grandchildren, Terry A. Rothe and wife Jody, Jean A. Eikenberg and husband Brian, Michael W. Rothe, Terry E. and Sandy Rothe, Rhonda King and husband Brett, and Sandy Cochran and husband Eddie; 14 great-grandchildren, Tandi R., Nickolaus L., Rudy L. and Joseph L. Eikenberg, Hannah C., Nathan W. and Michael A.N. Rothe, Jeremiah, Carson and Shitara Cochran and Spencer, Macy, Elizabeth and Madelyn King; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Preceded in death by: His parents, four brothers, Melvin, Curtis, Walter and Warner, a sister Lillian Rothe and two nephews, Harley and Ted Rothe. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at the Allnutt Funeral Service Macy Chapel. Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Greeley. Visitation: 4-7 p.m. today and 10-11 a.m. Friday at the Macy Chapel.
