Joan Ann Cordaway, 71 Former Brush resident was respiratory therapist Friday, February 23, 2007 2:11 PM MST Print this story - Email this story Joan Ann Cordaway Joan Ann Cordaway, 71, former resident of Brush, died Monday at the McCune-Brooks Hospital in Carthage, Mo. Mrs. Cordaway was born Aug. 4, 1935 in Brush to William and Martha (Hoffman) Beck. She was a 1952 graduate of Snyder High School and attended Morgan Community College where she earned the credentials needed to become a respiratory therapist. She worked in that field at the Fort Morgan hospital. She moved to the Carthage area in the 1990s to be near her children. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Over 60 Center. Mrs. Cordaway is survived by her two daughters, Stephanie Klang of Fidelity, Mo., and Linda Cordaway of Joplin, Mo.; a son, David Cordaway of Carthage; two sisters, Phyllis Claver of Sterling and Karen Beck of Fort Morgan; two brothers, William Beck of Wiggins and Donald Beck of Snyder, and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert Beck and Steven Beck. A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Light House across from the First Christian Church, in Carthage.
