Due to my lineage of the KAUFFMAN name (also a 7th generation of Johann Adam KAUFFMAN), I checked my KAUFFMAN reference book and found that Mary and I are distant relatives. It was most interesting to note that Mary and the earlier generations of GINTHER was spelled GUENTHER, that is, sounds alike but spelled differently. It certainly pays to consider all possible spellings when you research surnames. Don Loose Warren, Mich.
