    3. Sue, First, let me say that I have NO connection to the surnames that you mentioned. I did check my "1798 Census of the German Colonies along the Volga" reference for the surname JARGER (and spelling variations). I do not want to mix you up, but I did not find your primary spelling; I did find several villages having a JAGER at that time. I next checked for the HETZEL name, and found nothing close. In the process, I found four (4) HERGER names listed for the village of DIETEL. Good Luck on your search. I am not sure how much the above might help (or hinder), but one never knows when something might show up that helps. Have you checked the AHSGR.org website for the availability of a later census of Dietal? Don Loose Warren, Mich.
