Thank you very much to all of the people who sent me responses about my Declarations of Intention / Naturalization comment/question. You confirmed that I have not been wasting my time by looking at individual local/county/state indexes to find naturalization documents. I do actually have naturalization documents for 4 different ancestors that I had to get from 4 different archives. The first one was for a great-grandfather, which I ordered from the Colorado State archives after getting the document number from someone on this list; the second was for a great-grandfather's second wife, which I got from AHSGR-Fresno; the third was for a great-grandfather which I got from the Michigan State Archives after finding it in a county index; the fourth I actually did find on Ancestry, because they have an index of Detroit Michigan Federal Court Naturalizations. That last one I had to order twice because NARA-Great Lakes claimed that they didn't have it. By the way, has anyone ever received a set of Naturalization documents that had the Certificate of Arrival attached? The forms refer to an attached certificate of arrival, but none of the copies I have received have included a Certificate of Arrival. I wonder of there is a separate place where those are filed away?
