Scottsbluff Star Hearld Scottsbluff, NE 12 Jan 2007 Bertha I. Richards, 80, of Scottsbluff, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at Kimball Health Services Hospital in Kimball, Neb. Her Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Salem Congregational Church in Scottsbluff, with Pastor Dale Brown officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Memorials in her name may be made to the Church or in care of the family. Friends who wish may call at the Jolliffe Funeral Home Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday at the church prior to the services. Bertha was born March 4, 1926, in Scottsbluff to Henry and Katherine (Schaneman) Kaufman. She grew up in Scottsbluff and on Nov. 21, 1945, she married Harold W. Richards at the Salem Congregational Church in Scottsbluff. She worked at Montgomery Wards for a time before managing the Sweetbriar Dress Shop in Scottsbluff for over twenty years. She was also an Estee' Lauder Cosmetic Consultant at Zoellner's Clothing Store for many years before she retired. Bertha was a longtime member of the Salem Congregational Church. Survivors include her husband, Harold W. Richards of Scottsbluff; daughter, Diana and her husband Alvin Stobel of Aurora, Colo.; son, Lonnie and his wife Lisa Richards of Castle Rock, Colo.; grandchildren, Tara Love and Tracey and her husband Brett Beattie, all of Dallas, Texas, Tami and her husband Rob Stobel of Aurora, and Billy Richards of Castle Rock; and great grandchildren Sarah, Joey and Jacob Beattie, Jamie Love and Tylar, Kelsie and Alexandra Stobel; brother, Leonard and his wife Billie Kaufman of Salt Lake City, Utah and a sister Darlene Brill of Gering. Her parents, sisters Esther and Ina and brother Elmer Kaufman preceded her in death.
