Billings Gazette Billings, MT 23 Jan 2007 SEATTLE - Yvonne (Krieger) Eckman, 70, of Seattle, formerly of Billings, passed away Sunday afternoon, Jan. 21, 2007, at Highline Medical Center in Seattle, due to complications of leukemia. She was born to Ben and Lydia (Jerke) Krieger on Feb. 14, 1936, in Gackle, N.D. At the age of 2, she moved with her parents to Worden, Mont., and at age 4, moved to Shepherd, Mont., where she received her education, graduating from Shepherd High School in 1953. Yvonne married Raymond Eckman, Oct. 3, 1954, in Billings. She worked from 1955 to 1969 at Montana State College (now University) School of Nursing at Deaconess Hospital Campus. In July 1969, Ray and Yvonne moved to Seattle, where she worked and became Vice President for Perine Machine Tool Company, doing business primarily for Boeing. Yvonne continued to work for the same ownership for 25 years until illness forced her to retire early. Yvonne and Ray enjoyed traveling, especially to Montana, North Dakota, Arizona and Nevada to see their family, relatives and friends. Yvonne is survived by her husband, Ray, of 52 years; two daughters, Lynn Malaspino (fiance Duane Rogers) and Debbie Banghart (Kenny); two grandsons, Bobby Malaspino and Nicky Banghart, all of Seattle; a sister, Jenifer Dunn (Rick); brother Nolan Krieger (Debbie), both of Billings; a brother-in-law, Ivan Eckman (Helen); and sister-in-law Dorothy Schaeffer, both of Seattle. Also survived by five nephews, Adam Krieger and Duane Dunn of Billings, Brian Krieger of Molt, Jim Hochhalter of Everett, Wash., Lonnie Schaeffer of Auburn, Wash.; and two nieces, Doni Weissman of Great Falls, Mont., Karen Lovejoy of Lehi, Utah; two uncles, Christ and John Jerke of Gackle; and numerous cousins. Services will be held at Bonney-Watson Parker Chapel, 900 S.W. 146th St, Burien, WA, 98166, on Friday, Jan. 26, at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Riverton Crest Cemetery, Seattle.
