You can easily get many answers to these kinds of questions by accessing AHSGR.org. You will find what census data is available for different colonies for different years. There are some 1775 census data available and currently some 1834 census data. The 1798 census was the first so it is the most complete. You can purchase the data in 1798 for the whole village/colony. It has been published for quite some time by AHSGR. You should expect to pay for this research because there was cost to both acquiring and translating it. I am not as familiar with the GRHS holdings, but a look at their website should tell you what they are doing. Dr. Brent Mai is also working on census data and I'm sure someone on the list can give you his website - if not - Google it. The German Origins Project at AHSGR.org should also be of interest to everyone - as new information about the original colonists comes in from family researchers who are working on German origins, it is added to the data by village/colony. Also accessing the reports of Village Coordinators for your particular village can be very educational. Some coordinators are also very helpful to individual researchers and readily share what they have. Some Village Coordinators keep a database of families for their particular village. Look for a website for your particular village - some have them while others don't. For those who have been around a long time, these suggestions may seem repetitive. We have to remember we will always have new researchers joining us who don't have the knowledge about resources that others may have. I'm sure some of the others on this list have other helpful suggestions to offer new researchers. Lauren Brantner --------------------------------- Looking for a deal?
