Casper Star Tribune Casper, WY Marie Strecker Monday, September 03, 2007 LYMAN, Neb. -- A funeral for Marie Strecker, 92, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, at the Immanuel United Church of Christ with the Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Scottsbluff, Neb. Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Colyer Funeral Home in Torrington. She died at her home on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007. Born Dec. 13, 1914, to Jacob and Amalia (Schmidt) Maul in Lincoln, Neb., she grew up there and received her education in the Lincoln schools. On Feb. 5, 1933, she married George Strecker in Mitchell, Neb. They farmed in the Lyman and Henry, Neb., area. In 1945, when they bought their own farm south of Henry. She was a member oft he Immanuel United Church of Christ. Her hobbies included making quilts and crocheting afghans. She loved cooking, especially traditional German foods for family dinners. She enjoyed her grandchildren. Survivors include three sons, Robert Strecker and his wife of Minatare, Neb., Kenneth Strecker of Torrington, and Roger Strecker of Henry; a sister, Frieda Schuldies of Henry; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant daughter; a grandson; a sister, Katherine Welsch; and two brothers, Jake Maul and John Pete Maul.
