    3. I am creating a Google Earth map of all the VG villages to share with you all. Does anyone have a listing of each village latitude and longitude? Thanks, Dennis Pfeif-Sewald

    3. Dennis, A good number of them, along with their Russian name, are listed in the "Brief Gazetteer of the German Colonies along the Volga in 1798" as published in the 1798 Census of Colonies along the Volga. I could go through them for you, which is rather lengthy in that the colonies are cross referenced to their Russian and "common" name. The detailed information covers some 19 pages in Brent Mai's published census reference. Don Loose Warren, Mich. 3. It's been done already! Check out this website that lists cities in the Saratovskaya Oblast' area. You must know the Russian names for the villages, but each lists latitude and longitude, altitude, population, as well as arial satellite and topographical views. > http://www.fallingrain.com/world/RS/67/index.html > Patrick Lipphardt Ancestral villages of Norka and Schaffhausen
