Wacker, 90, of Thornton died April 17 at the North Suburban Hospital in Thornton. Mrs. Wacker was born April 3, 1917, in McCook, Neb., to George and Katie Gettman Wagner. Her parents had immigrated to the United States from Frank, Russia, where many German families had settled. The family then moved to Fort Morgan, where she grew up and attended school. She was married to Paul C. Wacker Dec. 15, 1935, in Fort Morgan. The family lived in the Fort Morgan area until they moved to the Globeville community of Denver. She worked managing one of the largest lunchroom programs in the Denver Public Schools system, a position she held until her retirement. Mrs. Wacker was a member of the 1st German Congregational Church and later Heritage Community Bible Church .She was active in the life and ministry of her church. She was a member of the Friendly Society and the Ladies Aid. She taught all ages of Sunday school including the Confirmation Sunday School Class. She was the first woman Sunday school superintendent and a member of the May Flower Circle of friends. She quilted, did ceramics and enjoyed spending time in the mountains. She and her husband traveled extensively from coast to coast. They visited Alaska, frequented Yellowstone and attended the rededication of the Statue of Liberty. They were also able to travel to Europe. Mrs. Wacker is survived by two brothers, Benjamin Wagner of Greeley and Samuel Wagner of Denver; her daughter, Betty Weiderspon of Greeley; her son, Paul Wacker of Golden Gate Canyon; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; three brothers, Gus, George and Jake Wagner, and one sister, Esther Wagner. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Heritage Community Bible Church in Arvada. Funeria Moore Howard Chapel was in charge of the arrangements. ---
