Billings Gazette Billings, MT 1 Apr 2007 Herbert Hoffman departed this life to meet the Heavenly Father, March 31, 2007. Herb was born Sept. 9, 1921, near Mott, N.D. to Fredricka and Fred Hoffman. Herb worked on the family farm until he was drafted into the U.S. Army. After military service, he moved to Hardin to work on a beet farm. In 1982, Herb began his retirement after 40 years of committed service to BN Railroad. Herb is survived by his devoted wife, Lue, of 37 years; son Larry (Carol); step daughter Judy (Dale) Bair; sister-in-law Edna Hoffman; sisters, Helen Julian of California, Alice Lewis of Spokane, Fern (Floyd) Totton, Ester Groscop; brother-in-law Mike (Cindy) Wilmot; sister-in-law Edith (Don) Williams; grandchildren, Becky (Jeremy) Rindahl, Angie (Travis) Smith; and numerous special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, George, John and sisters, Edna and Betty. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, at Terrace Garden Smith Funeral Home. Family dinner to follow at the LDS Chapel on Monad.
