Scottsbluff Star Hearld Scottsbluff, NE 1 Apr 2007 TORRINGTON, Wyo. - Louie H. Urbach, 89, died Friday, March 30, 2007, at the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ora Dailey officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Ft. Laramie Cemetery. Visitation hours will be held at the Colyer Funeral Home Monday, April 2 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and the casket will be open briefly following the services. Those who wish may direct memorial contributions to either the Ft. Laramie Volunteer Fire Department or to the Torrington Senior Friendship Center. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends are invited to send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com Louie was born Sept. 14, 1917, in Bayard the son of Louis and Amelia (Bott) Urbach. He grew up and attended school at Bayard. The family then moved to a farm south of Torrington, Wyo. Louie entered the United States Air Force and served during WWII. Following his discharge he moved to Scottsbluff. He married Bernice 'Lucy' Oliver Oct. 15, 1946, in Bridgeport. The couple lived in Scottsbluff for six years where Louie worked as a carpenter. They then moved to Denver, where they lived for 36 years. Louie retired from the Carpenters Union in Denver in 1979 and the couple moved to Ft. Laramie, Wyo. in 1988. In 1998 they moved to Torrington. Louie was a member of the Elks, the Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Congregational Church. He enjoyed playing cards and golf; and liked to travel. Survivors include his wife, Bernice 'Lucy' Urbach of Torrington and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, and brothers, Henry, Conrad, John, Arthur, and Herman.
