Scottsbluff Star Hearld Scottsbluff, NE 8 Mar 2007 Fred J. Trout, 75, of rural Scottsbluff, died March 6, 2007, at Regional West Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, March 9, at WestWay Christian Church with Pastor Marshall Smith officiating. Please wear Red or White and/or casual clothes. Inurnment will be in the West Lawn Cemetery at Gering. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place at the Jolliffe Funeral Home Crematory. Fred was born July 27, 1931, in Minatare to Henry and Anna (Elkier) Troudt. He received his education in Scottsbluff. He married Emily Kay Purtzer in 1953 in Scottsbluff, and then they moved to California. Two children were born in their marriage, Daniel and Penni. They divorced in 1963. Fred moved back to Scottsbluff in 1975. He then married Doris Rae Miller July 1, 1977, of Gering. He worked for Scottsbluff Schools and was the Minatare cemetery caretaker until his retirement. Fred enjoyed life and took pride in his yard. He was an avid Scottsbluff athletics and Husker football fan. Survivors include his wife, Doris of Scottsbluff; former wife, Kay Hillery; his children, Daniel Trout and Penni (Perry) Moulton of California, Jim (Linda) Miller of Gering, Janet Miller of Scottsbluff, Ben (Diana) Miller of Torrington, Bob (Davina) Miller of Fort Collins; 25 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; sister, Irene Stricker of Gering; sisters-in-law, Jan (Bob) Todd, Connie (Cliff) Johnston; brother-in-law, Ron (Holly) Nelson; several nieces and nephews; and special friends Kandy, Holly and Joe, Candice, Tammy, and Dana. His brother Dave; sisters, Dorthy Knaub, Clara and Nettie Wilhelm, and Sophie Feinning; and his parents preceded him in death.
