    3. Hello, Depending upon where you live and the time that he became a citizen. In most cases if the area is rural or doesn't have a Federal Court house the papers are all filed at the local county court house. These records should be available in your state archives or as in the case of the State of Washington the Regional Archives. For the federal courthouses they are divided up into regions and there is a regional federal archive that would have the records. For Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska and part of the Montana they are available the the regional archives on Sandpoint Way in Seattle. You also need to be aware that a person could file their declaration or 1st paper in one place and become a citizen in another which makes trying to find citizenship papers more fun. Also if the person served in the armed forces especially during WWI where they either discharged or served would be the place where the papers were filed. In our area the a thousands of records filed for what is now Fort Lewis and what was then Camp Lewis at the federal archives in Seattle. Service in the armed forces was the fastest way to become a citizen because you became one upon discharge or during service. Hope that this doesn't confuse to much.
