Casper Star Tribune Casper, WY Shirley Maxine Heiser Edwards Wednesday, March 28, 2007 WORLAND -- Memorial services for Shirley Maxine Heiser Edwards, 79, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2007, at Worland Methodist Church with Grover Briggs officiating. She died of kidney failure Friday, March 23, 2007, in Worland. She was born Nov. 20, 1927, in Torrington, the daughter of John and Freda (Masser) Heiser. She was raised on a farm where the county road out front is the state line between Wyoming and Nebraska. The youngest daughter of German immigrants, she was raised in a hard working, no nonsense style typical of pioneer women. On Nov. 30, 1947, she married Charles William Edwards in Torrington. She moved to the Big Horn Basin in 1948. She was a member of Worland Methodist Church and was in the church choir. She was also a member of Eastern Star and the Worland Community Players. She was active in arts and crafts clubs and bridge clubs and did volunteer work at the hospital. She loved to golf in her younger years and learned to enjoy fishing later in life. Survivors include her husband, Charles William; sons, Charles William Jr. of Richmond, Calif. and Richard Thomas of Pinole, Calif.; daughters, A. Christine Somer and her husband of Lovell and Rebecca Muse of Worland; sisters, Betty Jean Young of Lyman, Neb. and Fern Gullette and her husband of Cheyenne; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
