Scottsbluff Star Hearld Scottsbluff, NE 18 Mar 2007 Beverly Jo Zumbrink-Carpenter, 54, of Gering, died Thursday, March 8, 2007, at her home in Gering. Funeral services to celebrate her life are being held in Albuquerque, N.M. Cards of sympathy can be mailed to Morgan Zumbrink-Liljegren, 2130 20th Street, Gering, NE 69341. Bev was born March 16, 1952, in Lacrosse, Wis., to Alvin and Elfrieda Krause. She enjoyed her career as a licensed Cosmetologist for over 27 years. She owned and operated the former Barber Den in Scottsbluff. Bev married her soul mate, Mark Zumbrick Oct. 22, 1988, in Greeley, Colo. They were happily married for 12 years when Mark died of cancer. She never fully recovered from this loss. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and adored her dog M'Lou. Bev was anxiously awaiting the birth of a new grandson due in May. Her smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Morgan and Ritch Liljegren of Scottsbluff; son and daughter-in-law, David and Wendy Lord of Aurora, Colo.; husband Max Carpenter of Gering; parents, Alvin and Elfrieda Krause of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandchildren, Cameron and Colten of Aurora, Colo. and unborn grandson of Scottsbluff. Preceding her in death was her husband, Mark Zumbrink.
