Hello to all: I am trying to help a friend locate information on her husband's ggrandfather. He was born 1823 in Baden Baden, Germany. pledged Allegiance here on 9/22/1856. We do not know the location, nor when he came over from germany. Need some advice on this one, as I'm not sure if he came directly here from Germany or if he came via Russia.
