    3. Billings Gazette Billings, MT 15 Aug 2007 Darlene (Frank) Vinecke went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Darlene was born on Nov. 9, 1937, in Hardin. She was the first of seven children born to Alexander and Helen (Herman) Frank. As a child, she lived in Spokane, Wash., and then Tillamook, Ore., and later settled in California. Darlene married Keith W. Vinecke, Feb. 25, 1956, in Palo Alto, Calif. Darlene returned to Billings with her husband and children in 1973. She and her family also lived in Lolo and in Great Falls, where she worked at the Eagle Mount Retirement Home as a food service supervisor. Darlene previously worked in the San Jose School District lunch program and then later worked in the Billings area school lunch program. She was an active member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church, in which she served as chairperson on the "Worship Environmental Committee." She was also involved in the Outreach Shelter Program, as well as many other church and community functions. Darlene was a gifted artist, and she loved crafting, home decorating and working in her yard. Darlene loved the Lord and started her day meditating in the Word. She cherished her Bible and devotionals. She was loved by many friends and family and she will be greatly missed, but always remembered for her sense of humor and loving spirit. Darlene was preceded in death by her brother, Ruben Frank; her father, Alexander Frank; and by her husband, Keith Vinecke. Survivors include her mother, Helen Frank; brothers, Alex Frank, Ken Frank and David Frank; sisters, Vondalee Frank and Cathy Frank; and her children, Mark Vinecke, James Vinecke and Marjorie (Vinecke) Rudio and husband Roger Rudio. Darlene has seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 1810 Shiloh Road. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Smith's West Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
