Scottsbluff Star Hearld Scottsbluff, NE 28 Aug 2007 BAYARD - Amelia "Millie" Pappas, 88, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at Chimney Rock Villa in Bayard. Her graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 31, at the Bayard Cemetery with Pastor Ted Meter officiating. Abiding by her wishes, the casket will be closed. Friends may sign the register book at the funeral home, Thursday, Aug. 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Prairie Haven Hospice. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.bbchapels.com. Bayard Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Millie was born May 13, 1919 in Kukus, Russia to Conrad and Catherine (Eirich) Kehling. She was united in marriage to Harry G. Pappas on June 15, 1940 in Sidney. She was a member of Women's Circle, Homemakers Club and card club. She enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with her family. Survivors include her sisters, Dorothy Heidenreich of Kearney, Alva J. DuBois of Boulder, Colo., Helen Lessman of Sioux City, Iowa and Marguerite Chapin of Lincoln; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her death was her mother, Catherine; father and stepmother, Conrad and Katherine; husband, Harry and brother Phillip C. Kehling.
