    3. Billings Gazette Billings, MT 15 Aug 2007 LAUREL - On Aug. 12, 2007, Edward Kindsfater went to be with the Lord in the arms of his family, due to natural causes. Ed was born Dec. 18, 1914, the middle child of Andrew and Margaret (Bott) Kindsfater of Rocky Ford, Colo. The family later moved to Laurel, where he married the love of his life, Martha Kehm, on Dec. 7, 1940. Together, they raised three daughters. Ed went to work on the Northern Pacific Railway in 1944 and retired in 1974 with the Burlington Northern. His retirement days were spent fishing and riding his bike, but most of all, spending time with his grandchildren whom he loved so much. Ed is survived by his wife, Martha of Laurel; his children, Jane Crawford of Portland, Ore., Elaine (Phil) Nichols of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Nancy (Jay) Edwards of Laurel; brother Herb (Betty) Kindsfater of Laurel; grandchildren Scott, Quinn, Travis, Jeff, Chad, Ecko, Joseph, Maggie, Britni and Eric; great-grandchildren Carsyn, Dylan, Emmalyn, Rose-Marie; as well as several nieces and a nephew. Mr. Kindsfater was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Marie, Alex, Bill and Peggy. Visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 15, from 5 to 9 p.m., at the Remington Letcher Memorial Chapel of Laurel, 420 19th Ave. West. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at the St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, 417 W. Ninth St. Memorials in his name may be made to Big Sky Hospice or St. John's Lutheran Church.
