    3. Scottsbluff Star Hearld Scottsbluff, NE 9 May 2007 Frieda E. Prester, 85, of Gering, formerly of Mitchell, died Friday, May 4, 2007, at Heritage Estates in Gering. Memorial Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, May 11, at The Federated Churches in Mitchell, with Dr. Charles H. Richardson officiating. At her request, cremation has taken place at the Jolliffe Funeral Home Crematory in Scottsbluff. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jan Hanson Memorial Scholarship, c/o Pinnacle Bank, 1511 Broadway, Mitchell, Nebraska, 69357. Jones Mortuary in Mitchell is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family at jonesmor@charterinternet.com. Frieda was born Nov. 1, 1921, in Alliance, Neb. to Jacob and Anna (Reichel) Hamburg. She married Walter Prester March 2, 1941, in Scottsbluff. To this marriage two daughters were born, Jan and Judy. The couple lived and farmed near Minatare for sixteen years before moving to the Mitchell area in 1957. Frieda worked side by side with Walter on the farm until retiring in 1984. Frieda loved cooking, sewing, doing puzzles and playing games, especially Scrabble, but her greatest joy was her family and her friends. She was proud that she had sewn over 300 quilts. She is survived by her daughter Judy of Highlands Ranch, Colo., grandsons, Jon Hanson and his friend Lesley and son Colton of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Jeff Hanson and his wife Tami of Minden, Neb.; great-grandson, Ethan Hanson and great-granddaughter, Ryleigh Hanson, both of Minden, Neb., son-in-law, Jim Hanson and his wife Nancy of Mitchell and a sister Lillian Potter of Creighton, Neb.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Walter; daughter, Jan Hanson; sisters, Rachel Welsch, Leah Kukas, Helen Ott and brother, Jake Hamburg.
