Scottsbluff Star Hearld Scottsbluff, NE 11 May 2007 LYMAN - Robert "Bob" Allen Johnson, 58, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 11, at the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Lyman with Pastor Bob Smith officiating. Interment will be at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Morrill. Friends who wish may call at the Jones Mortuary Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to noon, and at the funeral. A memorial has been established to the Lyman Fire Department. Bob was born in the midst of the '49 blizzard on March 2, at Scottsbluff to Bill D. and Ruth (Meininger) Johnson. He graduated from Huntley High School in 1967 and worked as an auto mechanic at Arnie Jay's Rambler and Covello Chevrolet before returning to farming. He married Gayle Coffee on Sept. 13, 1969, in Torrington, Wyo. He farmed in the Lyman area all of his life, including farming with his Dad until his death in 1995, and was currently involved in farming with his son Mark. He was a member and past board member of the church, and was active in the community, being a good neighbor and friend to all who knew him. Bob had a great passion for life, his family and grandchildren. He loved building and restoring automobiles, and hunting for arrowheads. If you ever met Bob, you were a friend for life. He is survived by his wife Gayle of Lyman; daughter and son-in-law, Robin and David Davis of Scottsbluff; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Karey Johnson of Lyman; granddaughters, Samantha and Jessica Davis of Scottsbluff; grandsons, Michael and Cody Johnson of Lyman; mother, Ruth Johnson of Lyman; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Ron Miller of Torrington; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Bob Childs of Tor-rington; nephews, Corey and Brian Childs, and Doug Miller; nieces, Kim Stokes and Lisa Spears; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. His father, and in-laws Robert and Barbara Coffee preceded him in death.
