    3. Billings Gazette Billings, MT 7 May 2007 Our special mother and dear grandmother, Adeline "Addy" Schafer, passed away with her family by her side on Saturday, May 5, 2007, of Alzheimers and cancer. She was born March, 5, 1934, in Belfield, N.D., and was the youngest of three children. She graduated from Billings Central High School. She married Michael A. Schafer, the love of her life, in August, 1953, and was married to him until his passing in December, 1992. Addy worked for the public school system driving school bus for many years. Later she worked at the Yellowstone County Detention Center in the commissary helping to keep those inmates in line Her favorite pastimes were spending time with her kids and grandchildren. She loved to dance, travel and enjoyed time at the casinos pushing buttons and having a beer. During her later years she faced many challenges, the loss of her husband, her brother Vic, her sister Jean and the onset of Alzheimers and cancer. She is survived by her children Jim (Renae), Dan, Karen (Gerard) Heffner, Sandy and Carol (Vince) McCowin. She has 10 grandchildren, D. Paul, Doug, Chris, Tanya, Patty, Tyler, Jonathan, Angie (carrying the first great-grandchild), Ashlee and Ali. Mom, you will truly be missed by all your friends and family, and dad is ready to enjoy the beginning of many dances with you. We are grateful you are now at peace, no more suffering and are in the arms of our Lord in Heaven. A special "thank you" to the staff of Moorberg Cottage, especially Nancy, Faith and Vicki. Also, the Autumn Care staff, Big Sky Hospice and Rocky Mountain Hospice. A vigil service will take place at Dahl Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, May 8, at 7 p.m. Memorial services will be held at Holy Rosary Church at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery with a luncheon to follow.
