    1. Re: [GV] Obit, Elsie Iva (Lorenz) Gibson
    2. The below message from this list came to me on a PML. I was not subscribing to Ger-Volga, so my reply will not be in the thread, but I have some questions about Mrs. Elsie Gibson nee Lorenz. I have information about the wedding of Elsie's sister, Helen: Elmwood, Cass County, Nebraska, Thurs, June 11th, 1936: "On last Sunday afternoon [June 7] Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Lorenz and family went to Cook, Nebraska where they attended the wedding of Miss Helen Lorenz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lorenz, to Mr. Raymond Bane of Nebraska City." Raymond Lorenz was a nephew to Frank Lorenz of Elmwood, serving as a pallbearer at his funeral, the relationship stated there. Found on the census, Frank Lorenz' parents state their birthplaces as Hessen Darmstadt. Of course, census statements are not necessarily accurate, and I'm wondering, since Elsie, of this Lorenz family, appears on the Ger-Volga list, if they were Germans from Russia and not from Hessen-Darmstadt at all. Any help?
