Herr and Jolliffe Mortuary Fort Morgan, Colorado 05-04-2007 FRED D. “ACE” WEIMER, 89, former Fort Morgan resident, died Wednesday afternoon, May 2, 2007 in Highlands Ranch. He was born December 31, 1917 in Brush to Fred & Marie (Kembel) Weimer. He attended public schools in Fort Morgan. Weimer served in the US Army during WWII where he was stationed in the South Pacific. He married Leah Schlothauer on November 11, 1945 in Fort Morgan. He farmed for the majority of his life, was a successful car salesman, and was an insurance agent and district manager for National Farmers Union Insurance Company. Mr. Weimer is survived by one son, Ron Weimer of Highlands Ranch, CO; one daughter, Karen Barwick of Hazen, ND; three sisters, Lydia Meyer of Brush, CO, Caroline Browne of Washington D.C., and Ruth Anderson of San Diego, CA; three brothers, Sam Weimer of Denver, and Reinhart Weimer and Harry Weimer, both of Fort Morgan; and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Leah Weimer; one brother, Reuben Weimer; and two sisters, Marie Weimer and Martha Stark. Visitation will be Monday, May 7th from 4 – 8 PM at the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary in Fort Morgan. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 8th at 10:30 AM at the Immanuel Evangelical Church in Fort Morgan with Pastor Bob Tolson officiating. Interment will be in Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan with Military Honors by the VFW Post 2551. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. The Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary in Fort Morgan is in charge of arrangements.
