Fry, Helen C., Nov. 2, 1920-July 25, 2014 Torrington Telegram Torrington, Wyoming Posted: Wednesday, Jul 30th, 2014 TORRINGTON – Helen C. Fry, 93, died at the Goshen Care Center on Friday, July 25, 2014, and, abiding by her wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Colyer Funeral Home assisted the family with the cremation arrangements. Helen was born Nov. 2, 1920 in Wellington, Colo., the daughter of Herman and Catherine (Ehrlich) Ahlbrandt. They later moved to their homestead at Veteran. Helen attended school there and graduated from Veteran High School in 1938. She married Wayne Fry of Torrington on Aug. 6, 1939 in Harrisburg, Neb. To this union, two daughters, Carole and Jeannette, were born. Wayne died in January of 2000, and she moved to Evergreen Court in February of 2000 and resided there until January of 2014 when she entered the Goshen Care Center. Helen is survived by her daughters, Carole Doman and her husband Larry of Torrington, and Jeannette Bruno of Loveland, Colo.; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother, Roland Ahlbrandt and his wife Connie of Riverton; three sisters-in-law, Helen Ahlbrandt of Cheyenne, Evelyn Ahlbrandt of Columbia, Mo., and LaVerne Ahlbrandt of Columbus, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers Woodrow, Arthur and Calvin Ahlbrandt; and two sons-in-law, Fred Shields and Tom Bruno.
