Trupp, Katherine ‘Kay’, July 31, 1919- July 5, 2014 Scottsbluff Star Herald Scottsbluff, Nebraska 8 Jul 2014 TORRINGTON, Wyo. — Katherine “Kay” Trupp, 94, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, July 5, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 10, at the First Congregational Church in Torrington, Wyo. with Pastor Matt Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery in Torrington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Congregational Church of Torrington or Pioneer Manor in Hay Springs. Remembrances may be sent to Deann Jensen, P.O. Box 413, Hay Springs, NE. The casket will be open prior to services at the church. Katherine was born July 31, 1919 near Torrington, the daughter of John and Margaret (Deines) Helzer. Katherine was the eldest of four children. She married Leonard Trupp on June 4, 1939. To this union, two daughters, Kathy “Deann” and Mary Ellen, were born. Katherine and Leonard farmed in several locations in Nebraska and Wyoming. They resided in Torrington upon retirement. She enjoyed crochet and studying her Bible faithfully. Katherine will be remembered as a loving grandmother and will also be missed by her daughters and their spouses, along with all of her nieces and nephews and other family and friends. Survivors include her daughters, Kathy “Deann” (Dean) Jensen and Mary Ellen (Thomas) Fortune; seven grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Marvin Gardner; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Delbert and Elsie Trupp. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Floyd (Viola) Helzer and Donald Helzer and sister Joan Gardner.
