A possible reprint of the book "the "Settlement of immigrants of German Origin in southern Alberta from the 1980's to the 1910's" Manfred Prokop (mprokop@ualberta.ca) Add to contacts 12:21 PM From: Manfred Prokop (mprokop@ualberta.ca) Sent: January-30-14 12:21:06 PM To: Manfred.Prokop@ualberta.ca Dear all (this is the last time you will hear from me about the “Germans” in Alberta; I am sure you are sick of hearing about ye olde Germans in ye olde Alberta J), I have now had not only about 25 expressions of interest in a reprint of the volume on the settlement of immigrants of German origin in NORTHERN Alberta, I have also received a number of queries whether the compendium volume on SOUTHERN Alberta (2011) could also be reprinted. So here I go again, testing the waters. Please keep in mind that I am doing this as a public/professional service to persons interested in German-Albertan history; I am not making any money here. I checked with my printer, and she tells me that the per-volume price for a minimum of 25 copies would be $30. For a minimum of 40 copies printed the price would drop to $25, for a minimum of 5o copies the price would be $23. It also has a CD with the names of immigrants of German origin taken from the Canadian censuses between 1881 and 1911. It has about 70 pages more thahn the other book, i.e., ca. 300 pages. Postage would be a bit higher, I would guess ca. $14 per volume, including the mailer etc., for Alberta. So, please let me know if you or your friends or family would like to order a copy/copies of the SOUTHERN ALBERTA volume by MARCH 15. When I have a chance to review my records after returning to Okotoks I’ll send out an e-mail to anyone I might have missed with this mail. At the end of March I will notify all those who have expressed a “pre-order” interest how many copies have been ordered and whether or not the SOUTHERN ALBERTA volume will be reprinted. Very best wishes, Manfred Prokop
