Mohrlang, Harry, Sept. 12, 1925-Nov. 13, 2014 The Tribune Greeley, Colorado 19 Nov 2014 Age: 89 Residence: Harry Mohrlang, 89, passed away Nov. 13, 2014, peacefully at home surrounded by family. He was born Sept. 12, 1925, to German Immigrant parents Jacob and Mary (Bott) Mohrlang from the German villages of Walter and Frank on the west bank of the Volga River in Russia. Harry was a lifelong resident of Morgan County. In 1944, he became part of the Greatest Generation. Entering the Army and proudly serving his familys new country in the Philippine Islands until his Honorable Discharge in 1946. On April 24, 1949, Harry married Lenora Hoff in Fort Morgan. Harry was founder, and served as president, of Mohrlang Manufacturing for over 50 years and was the holder of three patents. In 2005, the company was sold and he retired. Harry was very involved in many community groups; retired from the Brush Volunteer Fire Department after serving 23 years; member and past commander of the VFW Post No. 3551; past president of Morgan County Farm Bureau; past president of Morgan Community College Council for 10 years; life member of the 37th Infantry Veterans Association. Harry was selected the Outstanding Pioneer by the Brush Rodeo Association in 2004. In 2009, Harry was honored to be selected as one of the first from Morgan County to participate in the Veterans Honor Flight to Washington D.C. Harry had a love for travel and was able to visit his ancestral homes of Frank and Walter, Russia, as well as numerous trips to Australia, the Philippines, the Amazon River, the Iditarod in Alaska, and the Serengeti in Kenya. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Lenora; one son, Bruce (Nancy); daughters, Glenda McNabb and Amy (Mark) Johnson; brother, Milton; sisters, Irene Shank and Edna Macht; and five grandchildren, Sonia, Bradley, Erik, Cooper and Olivia. He was preceeded in death by granddaughter, Katie Mohrlang; son-in-law, John McNabb; brother, Jacob Mohrlang, Jr.; and sisters, Helen Mohrlang, Alvina Brunkhardt, and Dorothy Reich; and his parents.
