Gross, Mary Schaub, March 12, 1921- Nov. 26, 2014 Scottsbluff Star Herald Scottsbluff, Nebraska 27 Nov 2014 Mary Schaub Gross, 93 of Gering, Nebraska passed away Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014 at The Residency Care Center. Her graveside service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014 at 10 a.m. at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering with Pastor Tim Hebbert officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 1-5 p.m. at Gering Memorial Chapel. Memorials may be given to the Inn Touch of Regional West Medical Center. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.geringchapel.com. Mary was born on March 12, 1921 in Gering to John and Mary (Kerbs) Schaub. She attended school at Gering Valley School. She was united in marriage to Fred Gross on March 14, 1943 in Gering at Gering Zion Evangelical Church. To this union, two daughters were born Donna and RoseMarie. She was a hardworking person, enjoyed canning and pickling, and taking care of her family. She loved to garden and raised her flowers, playing Bingo and embroidering pillows and tea towels. She was a member of the Gering Zion Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years Fred; daughters Donna Gates of Westminster, Colo., and RoseMarie (Dean) Polemi of Greenwood Village, Colo.; grandchildren Andrew Polemi of Charlottesville, Va. and Katelyn Polemi of Ft. Collins, Colo.; brothers Dan Schaub and Ben (Joyce) Schaub both of Gering and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Emmanuel and Harold Schaub, sisters Edna Schaub and Pauline Schwindt and two infant sisters Betty and Alice.
